The time is near...As Marie reflects on today's reading from Luke, she does not see the gloom and the doom, rather -the words of the Lord ringing true.." be glad because deliverance is close at hand." No one knows when the end will come, but looking at the signs, our hearts tells us, now, more than ever, we should be seeking treasures from heaven ..... we have to do more good than evil at this stage of civilisation; at this point of time...We do not want to caught unprepared...still passing judgement, cutting pounds of flesh off the weak and the meek for our own well-being...when at any time, the Lord may reclaim the soul, entrusted us.
.
Of course, the human in Marie also whispers that now more than ever, she should do the things, she always wanted to do, because tomorrow may never come.......then she will never be able to "spot light", her heart's desires that it shines like a bright star in the heavens above. Maybe even ....some things termed "naughty" but that's the human speaking., not the spiritual soul.....Some say that the stars twinkling in the skies above are those of the good souls who had passed on and their good deeds continue to shine and light up the night skies.
.
To Marie, they are also, the heart's desires of very earthly people - you and her- wishes already gotten in hand-achieved, accomplished and now earned their place-up in the heavens -shining proudly bright. Each twinkle, is an announcement- a proud proclamation- I have made it! People! I have made it! I am in the gallery of the stars here above!

The love of God

Such a row, I had
with my God today,
That I promised never to
call on Him again,
It's Strange .....
He did not turned from me, ,
But held me closer still-
Arms enfolding in tender
love and care.
Shushhhhhh...He said
Shush ...I understand...
And all of a sudden,
I was ashamed
and whispered,
Forgive me Lord,
I have sinned....

Heaven

"Heaven is a place on earth", Marie believes that as well......just as happiness is relative, so is heaven, so is hell. In fact the more Marie reflects on the teachings of the Lord the more it appears that the kingdom of God is indeed ,a state of mind --enlightenment - wisdom attained, where ...one could be at peace with oneself, the world around us and at the same time bonded strongly with God, because it is from Him that all things come and it is to Him that all roads lead..But know what???? Marie also firmly believes that there is a real heaven above where God dwells.......His presence is very real, His power Supreme....
.
We are all given specific roles to play on life's stage and act to excellence, we must , the roles given us.. ...... Remember, the parable of the five talents...The Lord expects only the best of us, nothing less. Acting and behaving too "goody" may not necessarily, earn you "stars" from Heaven, nor merits in the Book of Life, because in that state of mind and existence, we may end up just sitting pretty in our glorified cacoon and not working as we should, to accomplish the many tasks, entrusted us .. ....Yeh..misguided "goody shoes" could turn out to be Pharishees of modern times..

The Apostle- The Musical on the Life of St Paul

How is the musical? Great soul provoking songs and hymns ! The theme was well enacted. The footsteps of St Paul, his mission, courage and firm belief in God stands out throughout the show -clear and easily followed. The message was loud and clear- "Go out and preach the good news in Jesus's Name!"

Marie found herself singing along and enjoying the show. Yes brother, we all learned alot more about St Paul ....than we did before..Definitely! but .... ...somehow, Marie thought the musical is a tad too long, but perhaps it requires that length of time to capture the essence of St Paul's footsteps. Just Marie's opinion...The general audience were seen very captivated by the show; the majority did not show any restlessness, at all. Yes folks! Those who love musicials and want to know more about the christian mission of St. Paul - A must!

Touched

A Homily of thanks and appreciation.

Thanks & Appreciation

This morning, we were reminded of the many good works rendered by the lovely children of God, those who spent countless hours working behind the scene, just so that we could benefit and receive the grace that flows from every Eucharistic celebrations, especially the week-end masses. Marie must confess, it did not really strike her ( yes, she did see but somehow it did not register completely), how people worked so hard that others could celebrate mass and strengthen their faith. Shows how easily we take things for granted eh friends? And to the lovely lady with the nightingale voice- Sister you totally enthralled me! "The Lord have Mercy" sounded so amazing! If Marie may say so, Sister, you are indeed blessed with great vocal, great voice! Move over Jacqueline Victor!

To the dedicated JS, our BEC captain and the team, thanks for a lovely month of October ! And let us not forget the dynamic RCIA team as well! Sometimes, when things run so well and so smoothly, we fail to see and to thank those who worked so hard to ensure everything is in its proper place and the engine, running smoothly.
.
Of course we would notice the black spot on the white sheet of paper almost immediately, it appears; the whites totally blurs out as soon as a speck of black touches the white surface. Funny isn't it? Yours faithfully, is no exception, she sometimes blabbers as well!
.
Today's message arising from the tale of the two widows, tells Marie that God sees and knows everything. In our darkest moments, He sends relief and comfort. When we lack the means, we are told not to fret because, God sees and understands our difficulties and our capabilities. A small portion in the eyes of others, may be 'chicken feed'; people may turn their noses down at us...but friends, that little bit, may well fill the whole strongroom of heaven! It is not what people think and say that matters, but applause from the Lord! The rags that we wear may be the prettiest thing in the eyes of God! Remember that Folks! Marie herself needs constant reminders as well, let us therefore draw strength and wisdom from one another! Have a nice day Folks!

Amazing grace- 1st Friday of Nov 09 Praise & Worship Session

How appropriate and beautiful that the hymn "Amazing Grace" should start the Eucharistic celebrations, right after the Holy Hour praise, worship and healing session. It is pure upliftment and a joy to acknowledge that we have found God and it is His hands that leads us on..

This world is really not very beautiful at this particular time of our existence but God makes the difference. First Friday Divine Mercy and Holy Hour, followed by Eucharistic celebrations is a blessed time of healing and reaching out to our Father and God. We have so many needs.....so many baggages ..... we need higher strength to substain us! Folks! Never for one moment think, we could survive without the grace of God!
.
People, do you know how powerful this beautiful time of healing is? I truly believe God is in our midst as our voices ring out in praise and worship of Him. Yes, our knees may beg for mercy but people, each time, we kneel and sends up a prayer (especially in a powerful healing session such as this), God in his compassion, reaches down and draws us up close to comfort us.. His spirit breathe into us... and if our hearts are pure and truly believing, it is transformed into healing and grace. Healing comes in so many forms, calming of spirit, of thoughts and mind...relief from sickness and pain...restoring of confidence in ourselves through strengthening of our own faith etc.. etc..and yes , miracles do happen!
.
Many people may not realise this but, the holy hour praise and worhip session is a powerful time to pray for our relatives and friends who are sick and in need of relief, even if they cannot make it to church. I tell my own family that First Friday- Praise and Worship Session is once a month special moments with God. The short time invested brings trillion good returns..Happy the people whom God calls to this praise, worship and healing session! Because the Blessings we bring home strengthens and brightens up our household and our lives! And the Peace that comes with it ..untold!

People of Faith, believe that our God is a faithful God and His Hands surely leads us in everything we need to do...God Bless You People! Together let us glorify our Lord God!

What a Friend we have in Jesus!

Another day, another baggage unloaded! Each day Lord, I place one bag at Thy feet. Thank you for shouldering my burdens, thank you for lightening my load! Thank you for thy enfolding arms, each time I come before Thee!

Palms 31

In Thee, O Lord, do I seek refuge; let me never be put to shame, in thy righteousness, deliver me! Incline thy ear to me, rescue me speedily! Be Thou a rock of refugee for me, a strong fortress to save me! Palms 31

People of faith, if words fail you sometimes, and you are weak of spirit and strength, reflect on Palms 31. It is a powerful prayer invoking the spirit of God - to shield and protect those , who seek the grace and mercy of God. Whatever the situation, whatever the need, we have a God who stands firm for us; but brethen, your eyes has to be opened and your hearts seeking....

Sunday 1st Nov 2009

It is very upllfting this morning Reverend!

Tears are an expression, no words can describe, that what my parish priest said this morning, and yes, people, absolutely! Infact it is the outpouring of the deepest kind ; the innermost feelings that no expression can capture. It is a massive intensity of feelings , deep desire, longing .... bursting forth into a flood of emotion, and transformed in a universal language comprehended by all.
.
People! tears are also the touch of God . When we feel his presence, the joy overwhelms and sometimes, gushes forth in tears. Certain phrases in the Bible stirs our feelings and bridge the gap between us and our God. The hymn, "Higher Hands" ( to Marie that is) , arouses emotions and strengthen the ties between God and those whose hearts have been touched. People have you ever experienced certain periods of droughts when God becomes almost non-existent as you rushed about tending to the cares of the world and then one day, you came into a worship session and suddenly someone said something and that causes a flood of emotion to sweep over you and you just involuntarily (within yourself that is) reach out to God and in that instant, the ties were restored? I know that sounded surreal but... you had, experienced such moments , at some point of your lives have you not???
.
It was good learning this morning, bringing light to some confusing context in the gospel and shedding light on some very common terms like "meek, "poor in spirit", "those who mourn". There is a great difference taking the words literally and in the correct context to the teachings of our Lord. Last week at the adult initiation class, there was also a very beautiful and meaningful session on "how to pray". A Thousand Applause! You must forgive Marie, her comments, she hungers after knowledge and she is very appreciative of nutritious soups for the soul.
.
Written without favour and from her heart!
